MediVera Compounding Pharmacy, formerly known as University Compounding Pharmacy

I have been going to this Pharmacy since it was located at Save More on Livernois I believe. This is the third location I have followed them to and I remember the original Joe McCluskey that was the pharmacist at the time, so I have been a loyal long-time customer. Compounded medicine has never been covered by your insurance so it's hard to sometimes fit it in your budget. But this last increase was just something I was not going to ignore without checking other pharmacies first. They rationalized the increased by saying that they hadn't raised the prices in 2 years, so I guess we're paying for the cost of their new larger updated facility with all the extra staff. I found my HRT cream at the 2-year old price at another compounding pharmacy in the area. They got very good reviews so hopefully I'll get great service there also. Maybe University / MediVera has just gotten to be too big of a corporation...

Everything about MediVera is top-drawer. They are very customer-centric. Starting with the storefront presentation; it's clean and uncluttered. It is surprisingly easy to focus on the their offerings. They have relevant supplies and appropriate subject matter books but not a key chain or plush toy to be found. The front of house staff are professional and genuinely seem to be happy to have come to work today. They seem to take pride in their work. My Rx was ready in within an appropriate time frame. I received an automated call when my compounded Rx was ready. The attention to detail is exemplified with a water resistant instruction sheet included with the Rx. This pharmacy provides customer service rarely seen these days. I can't image going anywhere else now that I have seen what MediVera delivers. My review may seem overly complimentary but MediVera has earned every word.

I called today to check on my prescription to see what was going on with the communication and why I havent been contacted for a compound creme order from last week. Morgan did great by helping me but who is running the office to have a delay of care.

It took them 48 hours to contact me after getting my script the first time. It took them 4 more days (Thursday to a Tuesday) after contacting me to actually put my script in the mail. The second time it took 4 business days, which bookended a weekend, and two calls from my physician's office to reachout to me to just confirm my script. I'm now 24 hours "in" after them "processing" my second script and taking my credit card info, and it hasn't been mailed yet. Last time it took 7 business days (plus a weekend where nothing happens) from the time they received the script to when I actually received it. Are they understaffed or ineffecient? I don't know why it seems to take so long.

Wish I could give ZERO stars! Today is 08/04/25, I have been attempting to get my meds filled since 07/09/25!!!! Medivera admitted getting my script on 07/09 but they weren't sure why it wasn't filled!! On 07/24 I was assured that my script would be filled that day and shipped priority as I am out of state! Told the same story on 07/31! Still no meds and the app says 'processing'. This is not the first time this has happened and I gave them another chance! I should not have to order my meds a month ahead of time.

New place has plentyyy of parking which was an issue with their last location. They always fill my fiances RX's fast, and the place is very clean and super nice. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Would recommend.

The new location is less welcoming. It seems less efficient. The location is on a busier street. Coming into the lobby area the din/ noise level was so loud even though there was only Three representatives waiting on three people. It sounded like I was in a loud bar with 100 people in it. The whole experience just raised anxiety and stress when normally coming to the Compounding Pharmacy was quiet and serene at the other location. There’s not much they can do. They’ve already moved to this building I don’t To work on the noise dampening. In addition, you have to touch the screen three or four times just to get your prescription. With your finger and sign. There’s a whole lot of steps were before in the past there wasn’t all that touching of the same screen that everybody was touching. Especially after Covid, he would think that they would become more touchless rather than touching the screen so many times after everybody else. I didn’t see any hand sanitizer by my window that I was waited on. Maybe I’ll get used to a new location, but as of now it’s definitely stepped down from the old location I think this company is grown too big too fast, lost its personal touch That made people feel confident and cared for when coming here. Everything I pick up I’m paying out-of-pocket because it’s a Compounding Pharmacy so I’m spending a lot of money here. You would still think that they would have a level of service that should exceed what they’re giving us now.

Very professional staff. Willing to answer any questions and concerns. Plenty of parking. Pick up or mail delivery available.

They shipped it fast, but I didn't know when it came. Since, it was frozen, I should have been informed. I found it in excellent condition.
