Completely incompetent I was sent there to have a compound Rx filled as they advertise they do. Waited 15 mins to be told they don’t do it because insurance didn’t cover it. Then I offered to pay out of pocket so then they could and then they couldn’t They lied and couldn’t assist me in finding another pharmacy that could help. DON’T TRUST THEM

This isn't your corporate chain, the pharmacist here knows everyone by name and actually answers the phone. When my prescription wasn't covered, they found a manufacturer coupon that saved me $80. Open Sundays when others are closed, and they compound medications in-house (got custom-flavored kids' antibiotics in 20 minutes). 10/10!!!

IF YOUR MEDS ARE CRITICAL THINK TWICE ABOUT USING THEM! Based on the reviews we switched our prescriptions to West 79th after our last pharmacy switched to only specialty meds. West 79th told us that they would be able to stay on top of our monthly refills and deliver to us. We were thrilled. The first sign that this was not a well run business was when they sent my meds in a bag with the prescription information on the outside - a total violation of HIPAA. Each interaction since then left us unsure - were they delivering our meds or not. Sometimes the answer was of course we are, other times the answer was - we didn't realize you wanted them delivered, do you need them delivered? This was supposedly set up from the start. The WORST thing happened this week when my husband called 2 or 3 times, only reaching voice mail and getting no calls. I also called twice and no response either time. The last time, yesterday, I called was after they were closed. I left a message stating that my husband was out of important medicine that he needed to take daily and I asked for a manager to call me back since this was an urgent situation. Nothing. This afternoon my husband called and finally got a live person. No apology but he was told that he would get his meds today. I called another pharmacy on the UWS and based on the conversation decided to transfer the prescriptions to them. About 15 minutes after doing this my phone rang- it was the manager from West 79th. He told me that he had received a call from our new pharmacy but wanted me to know that the meds were on their way already. The transfer to a new pharmacy resulted in a phone call, not the messages we left saying this was extremely important. I let him know that this was the final delivery we would take from them and that I was horrified at lack of response to someone saying they were out of important meds. Now I got an apology- much too little, much too late.

Always go through here for my medication needs. Mostly do business by phone. They deliver to me free of charge and it’s always a pleasure.

I love this pharmacy. It feels like a small town pharmacy. They know you, they know what you're there to refill, and they are kind. Service is impeccable, their prices are better than big drugstores like Duane Reade, and they refill your prescriptions immediately. I highly recommend.

I got there 90 minutes before closing. Three staff there, replying skeptically to my query about eyewash and suggesting they had one kind. There were two shelves of eye washes and ointments. I made a selection and moved on to the vitamins nearby. ‘Anything else?’ one of them asked. I said I was browsing and thought the store was open till 7:30. Seems they’d decided to close at 6:15 and I was holding them up. I’ve always supported that store and praised their customer service. Would definitely have spent $100 tonight. Now, not going back except under duress.

Everyone who works at this pharmacy is unbelievably helpful and truly goes the extra mile. I was waiting 5 days for a prescription to be filled at Walgreens/Duane Reade before I had to leave town, and the staff at 79th Street Pharmacy went above and beyond to ensure they could fill my prescription in time. They even offered to wait over an hour on hold with Walgreens to try to transfer my prescription, and my prescription was ready within an hour.

Bobby is amazing. Had a problem he was so helpful, even though I wasnt a current customer. Outstanding customer service. Will be my "go to" for the future.

It's a pleasure to shop at the 79th Street Pharmacy which is well stocked with needed items. Whatever is not available can be ordered. The helpfulness and pleasantness from all staff members adds to a positive shopping experience. The delivery service is a necessary added plus when buying in bulk. I am thankful that I discovered this excellent amenity in my neighborhood.

A wonderful pharmacy - always pleasant and accommodating. Prices for meds and other products are lower than Duane Reade across the street. One problem - it is not open on Sundays, and occasionally it has been closed up to fifteen minutes before the posted closing time. Still, it is such a great business that I am sticking with it.
