This is the fourth time that I had a problem getting my order on time. I called each time, speaking to a person to make sure there were no problems when refilling my medication. My medication has a short storage lifespan of 3 months before it expires. They told we that it would take 1 week to deliver and that I should call 1 week before my medication runs out - I got it 2 weeks after I ordered it. I told them about my problem so now they told me to order it 1 to 2 weeks before I run out. The second time I ordered it, 3 weeks went by. I called Hopewell Pharmacy and they told me that no one processed my credit card so they did not ship it - they did not bother to contact me about this - why would I place an order and not pay for it? The third time I ordered it, I told the person about the problem that they did not process my credit card when I placed my order and to make sure that they process my credit card and ship me my medication. I thought everything was finally ironed out but now 3 weeks later, for the fourth time, they did not finish processing my order because they did not process my credit card. This time I informed them that I will be giving them a bad review. Now a days, it seems like there are so many incompetent people that they can not even do the most simplest of tasks. In the future, I will ask to speak to a supervisor when ordering my medication and hope that they would be capable of processing my order. I will also inform my doctors of my problems so they can research different compounding pharmacies that carry my medication and refer current and future patients to a responsible compounding pharmacy.
Horrible experience. You call to fill up a prescription and they do nothing with it. This happened TWICE already. My son is now out of medication because of them and it takes me $800 out of pocket to get a new one. The first time this happened I didn't think much of it, since everyone makes mistakes. I called and they told me it would take a week to receive the prescription. I waited a week and never received anything. I called back after 2 weeks and they told me "oh, your prescription was never filled, but we can do it now". As a result, I received the prescription almost a month after I needed. The second time, I called BEFORE the prescription was expired and they told me I should be receiving the prescription soon. I waited again, but nothing. Tried to call them a few times and nobody picked up. After 3 weeks without a prescription was finally able to get a hold of someone and they said "oh, there is no record that you ever called and your prescription is expired so we can't send it to you now unless the dr. calls in." I had originally called them BEFORE the prescription expired. It costs me $800 out of pocket to go back to the dr. and get a new prescription. This is something my son really needs and now we can't have it because of their mistake. It is completely unacceptable that they take a call for a prescription and do nothing with it. What were they doing while I was giving them the date of birth, prescription number and name of the patient that they could not write it down and take it to the pharmacist? Watching Youtube videos? I am never going back here and don't recommend this pharmacy to anyone.
Rude staff (Julia) can’t ship meds in time even if you order weeks ahead and issues with how they bill insurance. Do not recommend.
I have been using this pharmacy for the past couple of years. I have always had a positive experience. Prescriptions are always filled in a timely manner, and I am contacted if a medication needs to be ordered. My experience is far better than any chain pharmacy I have used in the past.
Deb has helped us so much over the years. As kind as they come. Lovely pharmacist!
The pharmacy called to gather particulars about the Rx that was submitted by my GI. During call I asked if this ointment would be provided with an applicator (a physical necessity being that it would have to be inserted past the sphincter, as I had discussed with my GI). I was told "Yes." I asked what type is it similar to Preparation H. Slight hesitation, then ,"Yes." Paid to have shipped. We discussed pricing, steep but not the biggest issue. So the Rx arrives and there is no applicator. I called pharmacy to ask for an applicator. Pharmacist (?) asked, "Did you ever hear of a finger cot?" Even repeated the question I guess he thought I didn't hear while I was trying to wrapy head around his reply. He told me EVERYBODY applied this ointment with their finger. I mentioned it needs to be inserted past my sphincter and didn't see how inserting my finger would be good ....well he refused. So I tried external and internal application, both not working and the internal with my finger using a finger cot caused spasms. After a week or 2 I worked up the guts to contact GI office expressing my plight. Dr messaged back that after talking to Hopewell Pharmacy my choices would be; I had to buy my own applicator, or get a refill and they would package it with an applicator. I said that it was supposed to come with an applicator in the first place. And why would I pay Another $65 for something I don't know if it works because I haven't been able to use it correctly. And I had already checked and found one applicator that had decent ratings, which is the one the GI now recommended, that cost $25. So raspberries to Hopewell pharmacy and (1) the mistaken (? to be kind) person taking my order , who may also be the person who ** did not call to say sorry it does not come with an applicator, it will cost extra (they proceeded to bill me for unusable product)**; and to (2) the pharmacist (?) who told me to use a product in a way that was useless and caused further problems, nevermind being both rude and condescending; ( and (3) to the doctor for not specifying the application need and for throwing me under the bus.) Update 2/4/2025: very soon after the above rating was submitted, I was contacted by Hopewell, and the rep who may have been the owner said they would send me a replacement with an applicator. I received the replacement today. So if my doctor's office had communicated with them and they both suggested I buy the pricey applicator....I hate complaining, truly truly. I received a tube of med this time and a plastic applicator that screws on the end of the tube. I received one applicator. Truly I hate complaining. The applicator is as large as my finger that caused spasms. And, really I wonder if this is a single application as it has nooks n crannies, and as you remove and replace the plunger to clean, the plastic spacers wear down and....I thought they said when I first called that it would be like a Prep H, which makes sense, it is small and easy to clean. Well I just don't know about this. Thanks anyway, now there's 2 meds wasted. This is not supposed to be public knowledge. But added a star (now is two) because they tried something.
I have been going to this pharmacy for the past two years. The women who manage the calls are wonderful and helpful. Never had an issue with the compound they mail me other than this one time. I called to express to them the compound was not right nor what it has been in all the past times they have filled it. I was told they would discuss it with the pharmacist and get back to me. They called me back and said the pharmacist said it was fine? I asked to speak directly to the pharmacist and they put me on hold where I waited and waited until I was disconnected. After work that day I called the pharmacy back and let the call taker know what happened and how I felt and how unprofessional they were behaving. I have never complained about any of the scripts they have previously filled? Wouldn't I know if the compound is not right if I have been using it for years? The pharmacist cannot get on the phone and have a conversation with their customer? Even CVS and Rite Aid pharmacists speak with their customers. I was so infuriated in the way I was treated and completely disregarded. And I never received a call back from the pharmacist. I spoke to the doctor who initially recommended this pharmacy to me and he said he feels they have just gotten too big. Well be that as it may - I have found another compounding pharmacy. Hopewell Pharmacy you are not the only compounding pharmacy in NJ. After your treatment I will take my chances elsewhere. I am now giving HB Pharmacy in North Arlington a shot. So far just from the initial call they seem to be kind and considerate. Hope this helps anyone who is looking for a pharmacy to compound HRT and one who respects their customers.
I’ve been meaning to write this review for years. I have an elderly pup who has many health issues and needs compounded medication. Hopewell Pharmacy to the rescue! They are ALWAYS so kind when I call. I’m a nervous nelly and every clerk and pharmacist I have spoken to is so understanding and knowledgeable. The compounded medication is always done in a timely manner, in fact sooner than I’ve ever experienced. THANK YOU Hopewell Pharmacy and staff!!!
Don’t use them if you actually need your medication in a prompt manner. Here’s a timeline that illustrates their incompetence. - I paid for my prescription on 4-22(a Monday) in the late morning/early afternoon. -Late afternoon of 4-25 I called for an update and was told “it was still In the lab”(the medication is two ingredients: the drug and preserved water). I asked when it would get shipped out and they said, “ maybe not until the following week”. -On 4-29(following Monday) I called again asking for another update and was told it’s going out 4-30, but it might not arrive until 5-2(Thursday). That’s a full 10 days after the prescription was given to them. They should upgrade my shipping to overnight/express after this obscene wait. -On 4-30 I called back just to make sure it was going out when they said it would. They confirmed it was going out that day and to my relief I received a fedex tracking email a few hours later. Tracking estimates it will arrive 5-1(9 days after prescription drop off). Although I didn’t get any shipping upgrade so it’s an estimate and not a guaranteed delivery date. I’m waiting on an antidepressant/anti-anxiety medication. They clearly do not care about their patients. The number of stories that match mine on here and Yelp display this is a pattern and not something one off. I’ve never left a google review before, but I am so upset at the way this pharmacy handles itself. If they couldn’t have filled my medication in a timely manner they should have advised me to go elsewhere. This is no way to treat sick people. I’m disgusted. (4-30): You can see the owner saw my review and asked me to call the pharmacy to resolve the issue. A great start would have been upgrading my shipping like I mentioned in this review I’ve been progressively updating. I don’t know how the issue can be resolved when the only thing I asked for (upgraded shipping) wasn’t granted. The damage has been done. I had a miserable and unproductive week without my medication. On the other hand, I will still call them (as soon as my medication arrives) because I might as well keep this review as thorough as possible. I think I’m a fair person and the least I can do when leaving such a scathing review is hear them out. 5-01- Received Medication (9 days total after paying) 5-06- I mentioned I would call them back and I did. Well I called the pharmacy and waited a really long time as it rang and rang only to met with an answering machine. I called back on their secondary number and luckily someone picked up that phone. I was offered a refund on the shipping for the prescription. It amounts to a 10% refund(it’s not about the money, but that’s a small sum given the inconvenience). While the owner sounded apologetic, I think it’s too little too late. The blame was passed off on an unknown employee. They didn’t seem concerned with which employee caused the delay. I mean it shouldn’t be hard to figure out whom was causing the delay when I have the call logs on my phone. I was polite given the owner’s bereavement, but it felt like lip service to be frank. I like to give people second chances, but I feel that would be foolish on my part after everything.
If you are young enough never to have been a customer of a locally owned pharmacy, you will be blown away at the difference in atmosphere, service, and pricing. Have a question for the pharmacist? They drop everything to help you. Can’t find something in the store? They come out from behind the counter and find it for you. The universe is conspiring to remove places like this from our communities. Our patronage is the best way to keep this from happening. This place is a gem.
Hopewell Pharmacy is usually quick pick up of prescriptions with friendly service.
This is regarding our medications that we ordered on July 28 for our son. I was told it will be shipped Aug 1st. But when we didn’t receive it until Saturday Aug 5, I called to check where it was? …
Very disappointed with service. Covid medication was not available for 6 days after it was called in. I was told it would be ready on the first day, I drive 45 minutes to get there only to find out it would take 6 more days. There price was …
The voice answering system should not give you an estimated time for your prescription to be ready. It has never been accurate for me. Waiting longer than you’re told is probably one of the top ways to piss customers off.
We love Deb. Outstanding pharmacist.
Dealing with medical stuff sucks but Hopewell Pharmacy - Jane specifically, is truly wonderful and made the process of getting my prescription filled easy and pleasant. She was warm, helpful and we every interaction with her has been truly positive. Thank you Jane!
Excellent customer service! Quality compound medications. Prices are very competitive. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to speak with. I’ve dealt with other compounding pharmacies in NJ and Hopewell is hands down the most accommodating around.
Was happy with them in the beginning but I called a week ago for my medicine they said they ship it it’s been a week I call they said it was shipping today I need this medicine for an autoimmune disorder. They didn’t seem to care. I’m sort …
Old world pharmacy that does compounding. If needed, good place.
Our experience has been satisfactory. They've been reasonably prompt in filling our prescription, and on one occasion they called our doctor for the prescription. Our prescription is for Vitamin B-12, and we've been satisfied with both …
