If you’re paying out of pocket for prescriptions, make sure that you compare Shaw’s Pharmacy Osco against all others. I have a prescription that would have cost me $250 at Walmart. $175 at Walgreens. But here at Osco, $12 !!! And the pharmacy staff is helpful and courteous.
This pharmacy is just downright deplorable at this point. I had my scripts filled here for only a few months before I had to change to a different pharmacy because of how many issues I had. I won’t name employees specifically but there’s so much incompetence and pure laziness there I don’t know how they’re still employed or how the pharmacy is still open. Every single time I went to pick something up over those few months there was some issue that I then had to chase around trying to solve. Some examples include: 1) An employee not processing out a pickup of a controlled substance when I picked it up. Several days later I went to pick up something else and the pharmacist himself was looking around everywhere for the script, which I had picked up 6 days prior. This then threw off my refill. 2) An employee telling me on a Friday I couldn’t get a script filled because according to their system it was too early. I was out of this medication, and was told to wait until Monday to talk to the pharmacist. My doctor had actually sent in an updated dosage of this medication several days prior and that’s what I was trying to pick up. The tech didn’t even look or ask what dosage I was trying to pick up. When I called and spoke to the pharmacist Monday he informed me that it could have been filled Friday because it was a new script with a different dose…I nearly lost it. 3) An employee telling me once they see a certain “pre-authorization” code they don’t bother with the script anymore because that’s not their job. This caused a TON of issues for me and I had to wait weeks for my prescriptions. I could continue, but I feel this is sufficient. If you want your prescriptions to not get screwed up I suggest going elsewhere.
This has gone downhill in the last few years. Constant errors with prescriptions, no corrections. Having to make several calls daily to get things fix as they aren’t fixed the first time. Very frustrating and very disappointing.
Used to be my favorite Pharmacy now half the time you can't even get anybody to answer the phone and a lot of times they're quite rude so disappointing
The pharmacist and the techs are very nice and go above and beyond for their customers
the nicest staff you could imagine. always a friendly face and always fast.
